Translation services (German to English)
We use the latest technology for translation memory and terminology
management to ensure consistent usage, top quality and proper implementation
of your preferred special vocabularies. We work regularly with
Trados,
Déjà Vu,
Star Transit and
SDLX and can provide advice and assistance
on migrating and exchanging translation resources between tools.
Software localization
Software source code, resource files, even compiled software
(executable files, DLLs, etc.) can be translated
safely using state-of-the-art localization and quality management
tools (particularly
Passolo
from PASS Engineering). These tools also allow compiled software to be
checked for keyboard shortcut conflicts, "hard-coded" content and
other critical quality factors. Translations from the software can
be vertically integrated with specialized tools for translating the
software documentation in order to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Document editing & preparation
We provide special proofreading services for German source documents
requiring content review before translation. Our associates
who perform these services have many years of experience as professional
proofreaders and editors for media and translation services. We also offer
review and revision of original English source documents and German
to English translations for private individuals, companies and language
service providers.
If no suitable source documents are available for use with translation
memory tools (i.e. scanned or faxed documents, PDFs, bitmap graphics), in
many cases we are able to provide special conversion services to extract
text for translation, often preserving the original layout and graphics.
The converted source documents can then be maintained as MS Word files or
in other suitable formats for further editing.
Terminology research and development
Special corporate vocabularies can be extracted from representative
collections of documents in order to determine critical terminology
and obtain an overview of language usage in particular areas. The data
collected can be transferred to and maintained in special databases
for use with translation memory tools, online dictionaries for intranets,
PDAs and mobile phones, etc. Terminology resources can be provided in
Trados Multiterm 5 or iX,
Déjà Vu,
MS Excel, MS Access, text and other
useful formats.
We can also provide advice on strategies for maintaining single-source
terminology databases for your enterprise.
